The F 200 – DEC land drilling rig is intended to be used for drilling oil and gas wells down to a depth of 3,000 (9,842 ft) to 4,000 m (13,123 ft) by making use of 4.½ or 5 in drill pipes and for a hook load limit of 200 mton (450,000 lbs). The said rig is equipped with d.c. electric motors that are supplied from an electric power station and operated by a SCR type control system.

The F 200 – DECland drilling rig uses the conventional drilling method that implies drillingeither by the rotary table or by a down hole motor; it performs the following drilling jobs:

• drilling of well holes;
• handling of casing and drill strings;
• removal of any troubles and damages which might occur at the well site;
• conditioning, cleaning and circulation of the drilling mud;
• performance of the auxiliary jobs afferent to the well drilling and casing processes.
